Structurally, the challenges that affect Bishop Gadsden affect all of this part of South Carolina. They are in high seismic areas and high wind velocity zone. These two things require a higher level of detail and coordination from the design team and specifically the structural engineer. The construction of the two-story townhomes is wood-bearing walls with wood trusses at the floor and roof. Monolithic concrete slabs were utilized to support bearing walls as well as the brick ledge at grade.
