Snell Selected for Village on the Isle
Snell has been named Engineer of Record for the new Village on the Isle master plan in Venice, FL. A $100 million dollar master plan was approved last year and has been progressing full speed ahead since. Initial portions of the project include renovations to existing buildings servicing the CCRC's residents. The two new phases include approximately 120,000 new square feet of development on campus which include new Independent Living units which represent a hybrid home model, something architect RLPS has perfected over the last few years, and a new health center that will include a memory care and a skilled nursing component.
Structurally, the buildings are important because of their functional usage. While the Independent Living units will be designed similarly to a multi-unit residential buildings, the health center and its skilled nursing push the building into a higher risk category requiring design for 170 mph winds.
“We are happy to be working with RLPS and Village on the Isle on their new project. As we move toward completion of the first phase construction documents, I think we can all see this will really strengthen the mission of Village on the Isle. ”
